Scientific Study – Why popcorn isn’t a GMO http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22009288

Popcorn, even though it's corn it cannot cross pollinate with GMOs biologically and so popcorn cannot be a GMO. However, the oil that popcorn is cooked typically is one of, or a combination of the following: corn oil, canola oil, cottonseed oil or vegetable oil which are made from GMO crops unless the oil product is specified as USDA organic or Non-GMO Project Verified.
